User Guide

A plain-English walkthrough of every part of the tool — what each button does and when to use it.

1 Getting started

When you first log in, a welcome popup walks you through the basics. You can reopen it anytime by clicking the ? button in the bottom-left corner.

At a high level, using the tool looks like this:

  1. Connect your YouTube channel.
  2. Sync your channel so your videos show up.
  3. In the Feed & Sync tab, pick which Megaphone network and podcast this channel pushes episodes to, then enable it.
  4. Publish a video so it has something to push.
  5. Turn on auto-publish or drip feed so new videos go out — and sync to Megaphone — on their own.

3 Schedule tab

Where you control when videos get published. Open any channel, click the Schedule tab. A video only becomes eligible for Megaphone once it's Published here and its MP4 has finished downloading.

Recently Published

Videos that are published, most recent first.

Up Next

Videos that are scheduled to publish automatically on upcoming dates.

Drip feed

Your automation setting. When it's on, the tool will automatically schedule and publish new YouTube videos on a cadence you choose — you don't have to touch it.

  • Enable drip feed — master on/off.
  • Include shorts — also drip-feed your Shorts, not just long-form.
  • Publish delay — how long after a video goes live on YouTube it should publish (usually a few days, to let YouTube's own algorithm breathe first).
  • Frequency — how many videos per day you want published.
Recommendation: turn on drip feed once you're set up and let it run. You'll only need to come back when you want to publish something immediately.

4 Catalog tab

Every video from your channel lives here. Use this tab when you want to add, edit, or publish a specific video.

Paste a YouTube video URL

Input at the top. Paste a link to a specific YouTube video and click Import to pull just that one video in. Useful when you want to add something from another channel or a video not in your main catalog.

Video statuses

  • Unscheduled — in your catalog, not yet set to publish.
  • Scheduled — will publish automatically at a future date.
  • Published — eligible for Megaphone sync (once its MP4 is ready, it's pushed within 5 minutes).
  • Rejected — you've marked this one as not going out. You can edit and resubmit or leave it out.

Per-video buttons

  • Edit — change the title, description, or scheduled date for a video.
  • AI — shorten an overly long title/description with AI.
  • Publish Now — publish a video immediately.
  • Retry Megaphone — appears on a published video if its push to Megaphone failed; retries immediately instead of waiting for the automatic backoff.

Each video also shows whether its MP4 is ready (look for the green "MP4 ✓" marker) and its Megaphone push status.

5 Feed & Sync tab

This tab is where you point a channel at a Megaphone podcast, and where the Sync Now button lives.

Megaphone (Spotify)

Pick the network and podcast this channel's published videos should be pushed to, then check Push published videos to this podcast. Requires MEGAPHONE_API_TOKEN to be configured on the server — if it isn't, this section tells you so.

Video vs. audio-only: if the picker warns that the podcast is missing an owner name/email or cover image, Megaphone will silently publish your video uploads as audio-only until those are set — in Megaphone's own dashboard, not here.

Once enabled, a background job checks every 5 minutes for published, MP4-ready videos and pushes them as episodes. A failed push retries automatically with increasing backoff; you can also force an immediate retry from the Catalog tab.

Sync Now

Pulls the latest videos from YouTube into your catalog. Do this first thing after connecting a new channel, and anytime you want to refresh.

Danger Zone (at the bottom)

Where the red button lives. See section 7 for what it does.

6 Logs tab

A history of what the tool has done for this channel — syncs, publishes, video imports, errors. Useful if a video didn't go out when you expected, or you want to confirm something happened. There's no action here, it's just a log.

7 Removing a channel

In any channel, go to the Feed & Sync tab and scroll to the Danger Zone at the bottom.

Remove Channel

Deletes the channel from the tool — its videos and feed go away immediately.

This can't be undone. Once a channel is removed, you'd need to reconnect it and resync to get it back.

8 Your account

Your login details are managed by your admin. If you need a password reset or want to change your email, contact your admin or contact@nobe.ca.

Logout is in the top-right user menu.
